Description
U-bolt With Convex Base to Minimise Crevice Corrosion For Standard Schedule Pipe Sizes
This Marine grade stainless steel u-bolt has been designed to be used in a minimum contact water repellent situation to prevent water crevice corrosion similar to the I-Rod u-bolts. The enhanced stainless base plate is convex with a silicone tube shroud. This convex surface provides almost a point contact rather than the line contact with the traditional flat support plate. Water will roll away from the pipe and not leave it standing in a pool of water which therefore minimises corrosion.
The u-bolt can be used as a grip or non-grip depending upon the arrangement of the nuts. Either both locked together underneath the convex base plate, for gripping the pipe; or, locked either side of the convex base plate to fix for non-gripping application
Although these are manufactured for BS3974 Pipe, they will of course have many other uses. Just check the full dimensions below to ensure they match your needs

Our manufacturing tolerances are + / – 1 mm)
We use roll threading so the diameter of the bar is usually less than the thread size. .

U-Bolt Base Material:
A4 (T316) Marine grade stainless steel has a greater corrosion resistance than A2 in certain environments. It is often used for Marine applications especially when coming into direct contact with salt water.
Galvanised Steel – A duller finish than BZP, typically 50 microns thick covering of Zinc and therefore provides much more protection suitable for many outdoor applications. To allow for this layer you should use tapped oversized nuts
